  • Meet the folks behind City Bakery

  • Pat & Rose Dennehy

  • Pat and Rose took over City Bakery in the Spring of 2001 when it was just a small storefront on Charlotte Street with a display case, a few wooden stools in the window and a French Deck Oven in the back room. Together they turned City Bakery into a customer service driven business that continues to focus on high-quality artisan baked goods, delicious breakfast and lunch offerings and gathering place for all walks of life.
Pat and Rose strive to provide Asheville and its surrounding areas with quality foods, excellent service and an enjoyable workplace for their staff.

  • Sarah Resnick, Pastry Chef

  • Since joining the City Bakery family in 2005, Sarah has completely changed the face of the bakery’s Pastry Department. With her vast recipe portfolio and her expert design and decorating skills, she has created some of the most mouth-watering, exquisite cakes that this town has ever seen. Sarah’s professionalism and customer service, along with her cakes, have been bringing customers back for years.

  • Jesse Bardyn, Head Baker

  • Jesse makes a lot of dough. With our Kemper mixer that holds up to 275 lbs of dough to our three deck Bongard oven, Jesse crafts the finest artisan breads available in this town. He has honed his skills over the years while studying centuries-old bread making techniques and his efforts have paid off. Each of the loaves that Jesse and his bakers create are make by hand in a traditional manner so that our customers come to get what they’ve relied on for years, delicious classic, crusty artisan breads.
